Zillow Completes Aquisition of Trulia
Zillow Completes Aquisition of Trulia
February 19th, 2015After months of trying, Zillow has finally purchased Trulia.
In case you aren’t familiar with Zillow or Trulia, they both run huge websites that provide property searches and home values to consumers. The two websites have caused headaches for Realtors nationwide, because their data is often outdated or incorrect, and from questionable sources.
Zillow’s acquisition of Trulia has been under scrutiny by the FTC and The National Association of Realtors since it was proposed, because many believe it creates an unfair monopoly of listing data (which technically belongs to Realtors).
What Does it Mean for You?
Many home buyers and sellers consult online websites to get an idea of what they should sell their property for, or what they should pay. Now that two notoriously incorrect websites provide most of that information, consumers should be especially wary.
It’s still easy to get ACCURATE and up-to-the-minute information though – just consult a licensed REALTORS like us that have access to the MLS, which is the original source of home listings.
So if you or anyone you know is looking to buy or sell a home, don’t hesitate to call, we can point you in the right direction!
